Amazon.com Product Description
This Casio men's watch has a titanium case and bezel that reduces weight while maintaining the shock resistance that G-Shock watches are known for. The watch is solar powered that allows the watch to run for nine months on a full charge without further exposure to light. The watch calibrates itself via radio signals to the US atomic clock for unsurpassed accuracy. It features five daily alarms, a countdown timer, a stopwatch, auto electroluminescent backlight with Afterglow, a calendar pre-programmed until 2099, a battery power indicator, and a power saving function. A deep waved black resin band provides a secure fit and the watch is water resistant to 660 feet (200 meters). It is covered by the manufacturer's 1-year warranty.

3 out of 5 stars Decent   January 13, 2010

After going through a few other casio watches over the years always having moisture in the watch. I spent the extra cash on this model thinking it would solve my problems. Already had to send it back before even 1 year. We will see if they changed the seals or what they did. Disapointed. Thought I should get 10 years out of them. Love casio but wish they held up a little better.

5 out of 5 stars A Great Watch - Works as Advertised   December 30, 2009
Fire Walker (Rochester, NY)
I've had this watch a couple weeks and I'm very satisfied. It's a sharp looking watch and sync's almost every night just sitting on my night stand. I live in Upstate New York just south of Lake Ontario. Each morning I check to see if the watch synced overnight and nine out of ten nights the sync has taken place. When I place the watch on a window sill the sync always takes place. The solar battery shows no sign of losing charge. The watch has a neat feature of shutting off the display each night to save battery usage. I highly recommend this watch.

4 out of 5 stars Casio Gulfman G-Shock   December 25, 2009

Very sharp Atomic Solar watch with auto light. Have two time sets such as PST and EST in different modes, great for traveling. Shows the month-day or day of the week, would be nice if they could show both. Watch is rust resistant. Completely digital readout. Very sharp looking and functional G-Shock.

5 out of 5 stars One of the Best G-Shocks Available!   December 11, 2009

I've had G-shocks since the early to mid nineties (not counting one as a kiddo). This model is a welcome addition to my collection. Size is manly without being too cumbersome, the titanium/resin construction keeps it light on the wrist (less than 1/2 the weight of a good stainless steel cased/bracelet watch), and all functions perform as they should.
Syncing is never an issue (midwest location), and even on those nights that it misses a sync, I know its still quartz accurate so will be within seconds per day. Manual syncs work well too! I can get an L3 signal when I attempt from next to a window mid-day in my home.
I really cannot think of any negatives....Casio G's are a sturdy, well made watch. The size might not be ideal for some situations (business shirts with long sleeves), but then again, I use it as a casual watch so its a non-issue. I also own a DW 6900 and it feels similar in comfort, though lighter than the DW. 5 stars, highly recommended.

5 out of 5 stars So far, so great   November 21, 2009

I just received this timepiece from Amazon yesterday (five days ahead of schedule, mind you), and after one day I'm very pleased. The watch looks better in person than it does it photos I've see (more understated), and it fits my skinny wrists better than I could have imagined a 45mm diameter watch would.

The display is bold and highly legible and very attractive. Functionality has been first-rate so far. I read the entire manual to familiarize myself with the many operations, then last night I placed the watch on my nightstand just prior to going to bed. Not on my window sill, as recommended, but on my nightstand. I had intentionally set the watch about 18 seconds fast, but when I woke up, it had synched itself perfectly, which I confirmed at time.gov. After reading all the squawking about atomic time not working properly, I'm pleased that mine appears to work perfectly. And I live in the mountainous Pacific Northwest; not exactly next door to Fort Collins.

A few minor beefs are as follows:

1. The countdown timer is limited to one hour. I don't know why Casio would limit it like this, but, truth be told, I'm unlikely to need a longer timer most of the time.

2. The day and date cannot be displayed simultaneously. Not a huge issue, but an issue nonetheless.

3. The current time is only displayed in two of the four modes, alarm and timer. No go for the stopwatch and world time.

4. The backlight is somewhat disappointing. I bought my brother the battery powered version of this watch, and the two stage backlight on that watch is fantastic, the best I've seen on a G. This watch, however, sports a dimmer, single stage backlight. It works and does what it's supposed to do, but it's out of character for the watch and this price point. I believe the solar panels are the reason for the missing second backlight (no room), but if this watch had the other Gulfman's backlight, it would be even better.

Minor complaints aside, all in all, this is a terrific, comfortable, functional and good-looking timepiece, and I would definitely buy this one again. I'm also very pleased with the service and pricing at Amazon, which has only been good to me.

Udate: Well, I've lived with this watch for a few weeks now, and I can say it's the best digital watch I've ever owned. It has synched every night, and the combination of features and wearability make this an outstanding timepiece. All that and it looks great too. Highly recommended.
